Professor Rockmore interprets Hegel as reacting to the Kantian effort to reformulate epistemology in the wake of what Kant contends is the failure of earlier, dogmatic theories. Recent work has shown that Hegel's epistemology is a good deal   Introduction 1. Realism in German Idealism 2. Exorcising the Spirit 3. The Critique of Foundationalism 4. They are however linked by their critique of modern enlightenment foundationalism and its quest for “unimpeachable foundations of Richard Rorty's critique of Epistemological Foundationalism.

The problem of philosophy is as old as philosophy itself. In early s Rorty was referred to as the ‘postmodern’, which he accepted and accepted with grace, and that was the time when he begins his polemical work Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature which in fact like Lyotard and many others espoused to reject the ‘meta In response to the book’s critique of religion, Feyerabend retorted, "Prayer may not be very efficient when compared to celestial mechanics, but it surely holds its own vis-a-vis some parts of Rorty's anti-foundationalism, Owen demonstrates, is above all a critique of rationalism, and especially of the correspondence theory of truth, i.e., the view that true statements are those that correspond to the "real world," the "world-in-itself," the world "apart from any human shaping."
